India is a beautiful country with much history to be proud of and culture to be grateful for. But as an Indian woman, I don't understand how in a nation where mythical goddesses are worshipped, real women are killed on birth, molested, raped, burnt in the name of dowry, eve-teased, beaten on streets and in homes.

You can't win a war if you don't understand what you are fighting against and if you don't empathize with who you are fighting for. No Country For Women is a national campaign to change the problematic attitude of a country toward half of its population. It fights problems of gender-based violence and discrimination. The approach the organization takes is one of gender sensitizing, creating a dialogue with the youth through a series of workshops in schools and colleges. Without creating awareness and developing a deeper understanding of the rationale behind violence against women, India will be stuck in a regressive state of rape culture.
